Dear Parents/Carers

Pocket Money Appeal

Following the recent media coverage of the cyclone in Burma and earthquake in China, the children are keen to show their support for the victims.  School Council representatives have discussed this with their class.  Rather than asking you for money, they can, if they would like to, bring in a small sum from their pocket money or piggy bank.

We recognise that both countries have a different approach to aid but we intend to send all money raised to the Disasters Emergency Committee who are experienced in sending aid to the best agencies with the best access to the countries experiencing difficulties.

Please stress to your child that there is no obligation to take part, but any donation, from pennies up to a maximum of £4.00 would be gratefully received.  Please send donations in a sealed envelope labelled ‘DEC’.

St Paul’s Community Event

Thank you for your donations towards St Paul’s Roof Fund through the ‘Dress as you please’ Day on Friday 9th May.  I will let you know how much was raised as soon as possible.  Thanks to Mrs Henderson, the Chamber Choir and the School Choir for singing so beautifully at the Community Event on Saturday 10th May.

Lacrosse Tournament

Commiserations to the Lacrosse Team (James Gibney, Ewan Penty Geraets, Sam Martin, Calum Rigden, Annabel Penfound, Maddie Donald, Hannah Jennings and Lily Strong) who represented the school at the Regional Tournament last Saturday.  They missed out on going to the Nationals by one goal.  The children showed an excellent team spirit and there was some outstanding play, particularly in the match against Goring, which they won 7-5.

Parking

We have recently received telephone calls from several residents in Shelley Close because some parents have parked their car on the pavement or in front of their drives.  Please park with care, considering the needs of both residents and pedestrians.

Yours sincerely
