Dear Parents/Carers
Please find attached a letter containing formal guidance issued by Hampshire to all schools on 7th July 2009 at 3.00pm. To support families, we are including the following advice from the Health Protection Agency:
Symptoms of Swine Flu
- Sudden rise in temperature
- Sore throat
- Headache
- Dry cough
- Sometimes: stomach pain and subsequent diarrhoea
If you think your child has some of these symptoms, please keep them at home. If they fall ill at school, we will contact you immediately.
Treatment
Please contact NHS Direct on 0845 46 47 or telephone your GP. Please do no take your child to the surgery.
Returning to school
If a child has swine flu, the current advice is that they should not return to school until all symptoms are no longer present.
Family members
The current advice is that children do not need to be kept at home if a family member has, or is suspected to have, swine flu.
